Clothed with Christ 

Galatians 3:26-27

 

“Vestis Virum Facit” – The Clothes Make the Man

Memory Verse 

Galatians 3:26-27

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”


Ephesians 3:16-17

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”

  

Isaiah 61:10

“I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness

 

  Justification – Made right with God.   “Just-as-if-I never sinned”

 

Colossians 3:9-14

“…you have taken off your old self with its practices 

10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.   14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

 

Sanctification – Ongoing process of becoming more like Jesus. “Our outward presentation should reflect our inward transformation.”

 

1 Corinthians 15:53

“For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.”

 

2 Corinthians 5:2-4 

“Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.”
